“SELENA” Quintanilla Musical Doll 11.5” Latina Tejano SUPER RARE.
Check out this super rare and unique “Selena” doll!
I originally purchased this doll on eBay years ago and have NEVER seen another one like it! As an avid Selena doll collector, I had to have it - but now I am selling it because I really need to downsize my collection (although it’s really hard to let it go!).
Interestingly, this doll has a unique face sculpt and packaging that was clearly inspired by the Selena “Grammy Awards” smiling doll. This doll has dark brown hair instead of black. When the heart button on her chest is pressed, a musical mechanism plays a tune (unfortunately I am unable to make out what the tune is supposed to be).
Note: This doll is NOT made by the same company as the original Selena doll (even though it looks similar). I’m not sure what company made it, as it doesn’t say on the box. The box says on back “Total SIX styles, please collect them all !” And “Made in China”. So I would assume there are 5 other variant dolls out there somewhere!
She’s wearing an off-white t-shirt and red pleather skirt. She originally came with a vest (she is not wearing it due to its discoloration and deterioration due to age - see photos), which will be included. I’m not sure if the outfit was based on anything Selena actually wore, but it looks somewhat reminiscent of an outfit from her “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” music video. Also included are a brush with an “S” on it and pink shoes that don’t fit very well.
The doll and box are in USED condition and show various signs of wear. The doll itself appears to be in overall decent condition with minimal wear. There are some light markings on either side of her neck (see photos). I originally received the doll with its legs loose and broken off from the hip joints - upon inspection, I could see that the plastic joints were brittle and broken due to age. So I carefully glued the legs back on with superglue. This means that the legs are stuck in place and no longer swivel at the joint. The box is worse for wear and shows clear signs of scratches, bends, tears, etc. the previous owner didn’t take great care of it and even left their own tape on the box. The pink cardboard box insert is also worn with various tears and holes in it.

Doll stand is NOT included. Doll itself will be wrapped in bubble wrap inside the box to help protect it better, with another layer of bubble wrap around the box.
