Organic, raw, farm-fresh garlic raised in middle Tennessee! Here at Sweetwater Farms we raise five different types of garlic. A description of each variety available is posted below. We sell these for culinary use, but they can also be used for seed to start your own garlic garden. Our garlic is raised clean with no pesticides or chemicals used on them at any time. We plant it ourselves from our own stock from previous seasons, harvest ourselves, hang them for drying and then trim them from the stalk. It's all done by hand and the garlic is as pure as we can possibly make it so you can rest assured you are getting clean, quality garlic. Our garlic has been very popular, selling out quickly every year we have offered it.
The garlic is available in 4 oz (1/4 lb) and 8 oz (1/2 lb) sizes. We recommend storing garlic in a cool, dry location away from sunlight. Mesh bags work best as they allow airflow around the garlic bulbs. These garlic will store for 6 months to a year depending on variety, but we recommend using them within 3 months for best quality and flavor. We ship the bulbs in an envelope or box and suggest opening them immediately and moving them to a mesh bag. All varieties were harvested in June 2021 and prepped in July 2021.
The price you pay includes all shipping charges. We ship within 2-3 days after receiving payment. Shipping to the continental U.S. only using USPS. No international shipping! We will ship to AK, HI and PR for an additional charge. Please contact us before ordering if you need an item shipped to those locations. Payment accepted through eBay payment methods only. We do not accept returns on food items unless you received the wrong item. We cannot accept returns of opened/used food items simply because you didn't like the flavor or texture. Variety Descriptions:
Blanak - Medium size hardneck, easy to peel with a spicy, long-lasting flavor. Great for roasting, adding to salsa and putting zing in pickles. This was the variety we first started with and it has been a consistent producer with good, strong taste every year. Available in 8 oz (1/2 lb) size which averages 12-16 bulbs depending on size, as well as a 4 oz option.
California - This medium-sized softneck variety is the most widely used garlic in the U.S. Great for culinary use and available earlier in the season than other varieties. It features a mild flavor and stores better than most other garlics. Available in 4 oz and 8 oz options. 4 ounces is around 6-8 bulbs depending on size.
Chesnok Red - A full-flavored hardneck garlic that sweetens when roasted. It is considered the best garlic for baking. Some even use it for garlic ice cream! It features heavy purple striping which leads to its name. The outer layers are thin, but grow thicker as you get deeper into the bulb. These bulbs are smaller than the other varieties, making them perfect for recipes requiring smaller cloves. Available in 4 oz size which averages 10-15 bulbs depending on size.
Elephant - While not a true garlic (actually in the leek family), this variety packs a mild heat with a good garlic taste, making it great for adding to many recipes. Cloves are very large. Bulbs can exceed the size of a softball and plants can tower 4-5 feet! Many of the bulbs weigh more than 1/4 lb. They also produce tall flowers that can be used for arrangements. Available in 2-bulb packs which weigh 6-8 oz.
Music - White skinned with a hint of pink on big cloves that are easy to peel. This hardneck stores well for 9 months to a year. Medium hot with a true garlic taste. The traditional garlic lover will like this variety. Available in 4 oz and 8 oz (1/2 lb) sizes. The 4 oz is about 4-5 bulbs depending on size.
